How To Apply – RRC Bilaspur

How To Apply

1. Recruitment Procedure

The selection process is subject to the rules and regulations issued by the General Manager, SECR Bilaspur and the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board, Government of India). This includes provisions for reservation of posts for specific communities such as Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), etc.

Employment notifications calling for applications are published in the newspapers of the zonal jurisdictions of SEC Railway, in the Employment News, and in two national dailies. Applicants are given a minimum of 30 days to submit their applications, which are scrutinized as per the criteria outlined in the notification.

2. Selection Procedure

The selection procedure involves two levels of tests:

Written Examination

The first level is a written test. The schedule for the written examination is published in newspapers and the Employment News. Eligible candidates receive a call letter specifying the date and centre of the examination.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Candidates who clear the written test are required to appear for a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which is qualifying in nature. The PET criteria are as follows:

  • Male: Run 1000 meters in 4 minutes 30 seconds (one chance).
  • Female: Run 400 meters in 3 minutes 15 seconds (one chance).

Candidates successful in the PET are then called for document verification and a medical examination. The final selection is made based on merit, reservation policies, and candidate preferences.
